Obituary for Christina N. Nealer

Christina N. Nealer, 30 of Shelocta, PA passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home.

She was the daughter of Paul and Pamela (Hazley) Nealer, born on December 26, 1981 in Johnstown, PA.

Christy was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. She was a 2000 graduate of Indiana Area High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, and a 2006 honors graduate of University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with dual majors in Marketing and Chemistry.

Christy was the owner-operator of Talisman Farms and was an accomplished trainer and rider of hunter and jumper horses. She was a successful competitor, winning many awards at the local, state, and national levels. She was a dedicated volunteer in the Indiana County 4H Horse Program, where she won many awards for both her riding ability and her overall horsemanship during her years as a member. She and her family were known for designing beautiful hunter courses each year for the PA State 4H Horse Show.

She is survived by her parents, Paul and Pamela Nealer of Shelocta; one sister, Angela Nealer of Indiana, her grandmother, Gladys Nealer of Shelocta and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Christina was preceded in death by by her paternal grandfather, Paul E. Nealer, and her maternal grandparents, Richard and Angela Hazley and Uncle John Hazley.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. at the Bence-Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Indiana with Rev. William Kiel as celebrant. Interment will be private.
