Obituary for Genevieve L. Edwards

Genevieve L.  Edwards
Genevieve L. Edwards, 87, of Indiana, formerly of Clymer and Pittsburgh, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at her home. Born, January 2, 1926 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Gocal) Kubecker. She was the widow of John Milton Edwards who died in 1988.

For many years she had been the organist at St. Anthony’s Church in Clymer. Jenny volunteered at the Indiana Guidance Center, was a member of AARP’s Evergreen Chapter; belonged to the Indiana Players, Indiana Arts Council Suverna Dance Troupe and the Indiana Genealogical & Historical Society.

While living in Indiana, she had been a secretary for the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company and was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church.

She led a long and happy life and will be greatly missed by the following children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Children: Mary Crilley & husband, Duane, Pittsburgh; William Edwards & wife, Mary Curran, Clinton, CT; Joseph Edwards & wife, Belle, Seattle, WA; James Edwards & wife, Laura, Glen Campbell; and Robert Edwards & wife, Carla Zack, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by her one brother.

Friends will be received Monday, Sept. 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Inc., 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 1st at 10 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana. Rev. Thomas Federline, celebrant. Interment will be in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township, Pittsburgh.
