Obituary for Stewart Alexander Francis Sr.
Stewart Alexander Francis, Sr., 76, of Indiana, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
Born in Westerly, RI. Stew was the son of the late, Ivor “Giggs” Francis and Helen (Stenhouse) Francis. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Vetto) Francis.
Stewart was formerly from Stratford CT and a graduate of Stratford High School.
He also served with the Army National Guard.
Stew was employed many years as a crane operator & belonged to the Operators Engineers Union, Local 478 in Hamden CT.
He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed coaching Pop Warner Football in Ct. Stew also enjoyed watching TV with his beloved Pekingese dog, Frans’wa.
In addition to his wife, Lorraine, he is survived by his children: Walter J. Wixner, Indiana, PA; Cheryl Wixner-Wargo, Stoneboro, PA, Stewart A. Francis Jr., & wife, Bonnie, Flinton, PA. Also surviving him is his sister, Marilyn Francis and his brother, John Francis & wife, Jackie, both of Stratford, CT; along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents (noted above) and grandson, Walter J. Wixner, II.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
