Obituary for Mildred Fyock (Swan)

Mildred  Fyock (Swan)
Mildred Fyock, 88, formerly of Indiana, died Monday, October 5, 2015, at the home of her daughter in St. Louis, MO, where she was residing. She was the wife of the late S. Blaine Fyock, who died June 12, 2003. They were married February 24, 1951 and shared 52 years of marriage.

The daughter of the late Gerald Samuel Swan and Robie Esther Thurston, she was born May 6, 1927 in Berwinsdale, Clearfield County.

Mildred was a 1946 graduate of Indiana High. She graduated in 1949 from The Indiana Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked as an RN for 12 years. In addition to her professional nursing career, she was a homemaker and a loving mother to their children.

Mildred enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, gardening and being with her family. She was a hard working woman, who always kept busy.

She was a member of Indiana Church of the Brethren.

Mildred is survived by her children, Sheila Gaspersic of St. Louis, MO and Benjamin Fyock and his wife Lisa of Westerville, OH. Her surviving grandchildren are Michael, Lauren and Nicole Gaspersic, all of St. Louis, MO and Lydia and Andrew Fyock, both of Westerville, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, her sons Garrison and Gerald Fyock and by her siblings, Gerald E. and James Swan and Charlotte Swan Chester.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10th at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana, where her funeral service will begin at two o’clock with the Rev. Brian Spencer, officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
