Obituary for Richard S. Westover

Richard S.  Westover
Richard S. Westover, 86, of Brookville, formerly of Clymer, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at McKinley Health Center at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville, Jefferson County.

The son of the late Victor Leland and Amanda H. (Sybert) Westover, Richard was born September 21, 1929 in Westover, Clearfield County. He married Regina Beck, who died April 7, 1980. His second wife, Charlotte Lorraine Pierce, died December 20, 2012.

Richard graduated from the former Westover High School. He retired from Season All Industries after 34 years of service. He was one of the first hourly employees hired when the company opened its local facility in 1957, the holder of the first time card.

He served in the Army in Korea from 1951-1953.

Richard enjoyed using his ham radio and taking his antique pickup truck to parades and shows. He liked going to auctions, watching TV—especially Andy Griffith—and, being with his family. He was active at the Twolick Valley Senior Center before moving to Brookville.

He attended the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church in Clymer.

Richard is survived by his children Rick Westover and wife Diane, of Rossiter; Ron Westover and wife Denise of Cherry Tree; Ray Westover and wife Pam of Hobe Sound, FL; Rena Altman, of Brookville; and, Robin Fulmer and husband Sam of Brookville. He is also survived by his step-daughter Patricia Coleman and
husband Ronald, of Creekside. Fifteen Grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive him.

In addition to his parents and both of his wives, Richard was predeceased by three siblings: Emma, John, and Lloyd Westover.

Friends will be received Wednesday, February 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, of Clymer. Richard’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 4th at 2PM, with his son Ron, presiding. Interment will be in the Washington Presbyterian Cemetery, Home.
