Obituary for Margaret Jane Hodge (Keith)
Margaret Jane (Keith) Hodge, 89, of Altoona, formerly of Dixonville, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Golden Living Center, Hillview in Altoona. Born in Bakerton, February 17, 1927, she was a daughter of the late, Thomas Keith and Laura Jane (Miller) Keith.
She was a homemaker who worked at home helping to raise her six children. She enjoyed making embroidery crafts and going dancing. She especially liked being with her family.
Margaret is survived by her children: Gloria Patterson, Indiana; Jean Thompson, Homer City; Merle Patterson, Altoona; Linda Patterson, Indiana; Ernie Patterson, Homer City; and Donna Patterson, Altoona. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest D. Patterson; second husband, David Hodge; and sister, Alice Adams.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, the time of her funeral service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. A private burial will be held at the McDowell Cemetery, Green Township.
Margaret’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to: The St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.org .
