Charlotte Leona Foster, 68, of Clymer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in the Palliative Care Unit at Indiana Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 5, 1948, in Sarah Furnace, PA to the late Nelson and Leona (Seybert) Brocius.

Charlotte attended the Penn Run Wesleyan Church, where she embraced and adored her church family. She was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Labor’s Union at Barnes and Tucker and Tanoma Coal Mining. She was also employed at the Eastern Orthodox Foundation, and for many years she was a flagger for the Dept. of Transportation and Local Flagging Companies. She was a graduate of Penns Manor High School, the first woman to graduate from the Penn State Continuing Education Center at Elder’s Ridge Mine Mechanic School, and graduated with honors in clerical work at Hiram G. Andrews. “Char” enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader for many years in Homer City. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Twolick Social Center in Clymer, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Albert E. Foster Jr. Four Children: Rose Mano (Daniel) of Dixonville; Beverly McMillen (Bert) of Irvona; Dorothy Sabo of Frisco, CO; and Bud Foster (Heather) of Eden, NY. Seven grandchildren: Amanda Foster, Matthew Mano (Kaylin), Maya Sabo, Liam Foster, Breanna McMillen, Logan McMillen, and Meagan McMillen. Three great-grandchildren: Aveyah Foster, Alivia Lute, & Jensen Mano. Surviving Siblings: Mary Ireland (Denny) of Piney Flats, TN; Ricky Brocius (Chris) of Nanty Glo; Richard Brocius (Beverly) of Home; and George Brocius (Nancy) of Indiana. A sister-in-law: Eleanor Foster of Cleveland, OH, as well as many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jean Woodward. Also surviving are her beloved pets: Buddy, Gizmo, Shadow, and Cloe Riley (BabyGirl).

Along with her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Betty Garrison.

Family & Friends will be received Saturday, July 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer where her funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 1pm. Pastor Tom Pugh will officiate. Burial will be at the Sample Run Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Footed Friends 220 Beck Road Indiana, PA; or The American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at rbfh.net.
