Obituary for Jonetta J. Gaul (Patrick)

Jonetta J.  Gaul (Patrick)
Jonetta Julia (Patrick) Gaul, 68 of Alverda, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 10, 2016 following a nine-year battle with cancer. Born in Colver, she was the only child of the late John Patrick, Jr., and Alma E. (Leone) Patrick. She was the wife of James Joseph Gaul, whom she married August 28, 1971. They had recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Jonetta was a 1966 graduate of Penns Manor High School and a 1970 graduate of Indiana State College (IUP). She returned to Penns Manor where she taught elementary school for 33 years, retiring in 2004.

Following her retirement, she and her husband, Jim, traveled extensively enjoying first-hand experiences with various cultures of the world. Jonetta loved to read and was a charter member of the Novelette Book Club. She loved music, playing the piano, and she especially liked listening to music from the Big Band era. In addition to her other activities, she enjoyed bowling and card club. Above all her true joy in life was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them.

She is a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by her two sons: Adam J, Gaul & wife, Kimiko, Raleigh, NC and Nathan J. Gaul & wife, Kimberly, Exton. Jonetta is also survived by her three grandchildren: Emma, Owen and Adalyn Gaul.

There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, September 17th at 10AM at the Church of the Resurrection – St. Patrick, Cameron’s Bottom. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Her family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer.
