Obituary for Carolina Dorothy "Carolyn" O'Brien (Wojtowicz)

Carolina Dorothy "Carolyn"  O'Brien (Wojtowicz)
Carolina “Carolyn” (Wojtowicz) O’Brien, 85, of Indiana, died, Monday, September 19th at Indiana 
Regional Medical Center. Born, January 5, 1931 in Spartansburg, Crawford County, she was the daughter 
of the late Joseph and Helena (Barc) Wojtowicz.  She was the widow of John Leslie O’Brien, who died in 
2003.

Carolyn was a 1950 graduate of Corry High School.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed flower 
gardening. She especially enjoyed her roses. She loved her family and friends, children, grandchildren 
and great grandchildren. She liked to play Bingo, Coffee Chat with her friends and always enjoyed 
attending church services at St. Andrew’s Village.

She is survived by her children: Patrick D. (Nellie), of Bremerton, WA; Jonathan J., of Commodore; 
Joseph J.M. of Commodore; Cynthia L. Crossland (Timothy), of Commodore; and, Jodie A. O’Brien, of 
Punxsutawney. The following siblings also survive her: Josephine Kitson, of Kirkwood, Washington; 
Matthew Wojtowicz, of Spartansburg; Frances Stonedale, of Meadville; Mildred Eastman, of Corry; 
Wanda Maloney, of Titusville; and her twin sister, Helena Varney, of Centerville. In addition, nine 
grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; daughter Lisa Parfitt; grandson Joseph J.M. 
O’Brien, Jr.; brothers Louis and John Wojtowicz; and by her sister, Stella Colwes.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 22nd, from 6‐8PM at the Rairigh‐Bence Funeral Home,  of Clymer. A second visitation will be held Friday, September 23rd, from 12‐2PM. Her funeral will be held 
at 2PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in McDowell Cemetery.
