Obituary for Howard W. Logan

Howard W. Logan, 90, of Indiana, died Thursday, September, 22, 2016 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born, September 29, 1925 in Indiana, he was the son of Howard R. and Myrtle (Klauss) Logan. He was the husband of Toy Jane (Rudolph) Logan, to whom he was married for 68 years.

Howard was a graduate of Indiana High School. He worked as an insurance agent for State Farm and then for the Helwig Agency for more than 40 years, retiring in the mid-1990s.

He served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater of Operations and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1989. He also belonged to the Indiana F & AM Franklin Lodge #313, where he was a 32nd
degree Mason and a member of the Coudersport and Altoona Consistories. Howard was a member of the Indiana Borough Council for 12 years, having served as the chairman of the Public Works Committee. He was also a member of the Central Indiana Model Railroaders Club. He enjoyed railroading, square dancing and camping.

In addition to his wife Toy Jane, Howard is survived by his daughters Debi Lorenzo and her husband Scott, and by Peggy Sue Adams and her husband Joe, all of Penn Run. In addition, he is survived by the following
grandchildren: Amanda Yurky (Josh) of Homer City; Regis Troxell, of Okinawa, Japan; and, Keith Troxell (Diane), of Winchester, VA. Great-granchildren Peyton and Grace Yurky also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Janet Lumley and Darlene Barnard.

Friends will be received on Saturday, September 24th from 1-4PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, of Indiana. A private burial will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery.
