Obituary for Delease Grubbs (Scott)
Delease Grubbs, 80, Creekside, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Latrobe Area Hospital.
The daughter of Belease and Cherry (Pratt) Scott, she was born in Orangeburg South Carolina.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, nanna, granny gg, and an awesome friend. Delease loved to volunteer in different activities, play bingo, arrange flowers, and help both Creekside Fire Hall and the Creekside United Methodist church with events.
Surviving are her children Ricky Grubbs, Creekside, Glenda Brown, Derry, Doris Grubbs, Beaverdale, Glenda Diffenderfer and husband David, Derry; brothers, Carl, Kenny, and Belease Scott Jr.; sisters, Zadie Jackson, Ruby Pratt, Bonnie Jackson, Virginia Hall, and Diane Hall; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; friends, Helen Sheffar and Pastor Becky Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
Delease was preceded in death by her husband James; sons Billy Ray and James “Bubba” Grubbs; sister, Sheila Scott; and brother-in-law, Roy Jackson.
Friends and Family will be received Thursday, October 27 from 3 to 5PM and 7 to 9PM at the Creekside United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be conducted Friday morning, 11AM, in the church with Pastor Becky Edwards, officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery The Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana is assisting the Grubbs family.
