Obituary for Elsie Paytash (Sbatella)

Elsie  Paytash (Sbatella)
Elsie (Sbatella) Paytash, 88, of Dixonville, died Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Hillsdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Dixonville, May 24, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Vincent James Sbattella and Lena (Caputo) Sbattella. She was the widow of George J. Paytash who died February 16, 2002.

Elsie was a life long member of the St. Michael Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Clymer where she was an auditor and was very dedicated to all the church dinner functions. A former owner of Clymer Beverage, Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose humble and steady presence will be greatly missed.

She will be remembered by her three daughters: Beverly Barr and husband, James, Lebanon; Colleen Myers and husband, Joseph, Clymer; and Debra Lockard and husband, Gary, Uniontown. Elsie is also survived by her grandchildren: Aaron Barr and wife, Stephanie; Adam Barr; Joseph Myers and wife, Jessica; Michael Myers; Kristi Myers; Ryan Lockard and wife, Lauren; and Garry Lockard and wife, Christa. Her great grandchildren are: Logan and Alex Barr; William and Madeline Myers and Lee Lockard. Other survivors include her siblings: John Sbatella and wife, Margaret of Ohio, Dolores Sbatella, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Elsie was preceded in death sisters: Louise Thornton, Lucy Falcone, Irene Kodman and several infant siblings.

Friends will be received Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 6:00PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer where a funeral service will be held at 6PM following the visitation hours. Divine Liturgy will be at 10 AM Monday morning at St. Michael Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Clymer. Rev. Matthew Conjelko officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
