Shirley Joan (Sprowls) Hartzell, 75, of Clymer, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born July 11, 1941 in West Finley and was a daughter of the late Kenneth Sprowls and Elizabeth (Walker) Sprowls. She married the late Blaine A. Hartzell on December 9,1960 and together they were married for 45 years and raised two children.

Shirley was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone.

She is survived by her daughter: Sheri Neff and husband David, Indiana whom she has resided with for the past year. Also, survived by her are two grandchildren: David Neff, Indiana; Kayla Neff, Alverda; and a great granddaughter, Lily Neff, Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: David W. Hartzell, and brother Kenny Sprowls.

Friends will be received at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A graveside funeral service will be held the following day, March 3, at the West Finley Cemetery in Washington County.
