Obituary for Geraldine Swartz
Marion “Geraldine” Swartz, 91, East Pike, passed away Friday. March 17, 2017 at the Bethany Place Residential Care Home, Indiana. She was born in White Township on December 17, 1925 to the late Richard Guy Swartz and Nellie Jean (McHenry) Swartz.
She was a lifelong resident of Indiana, Pa. and lived her entire life on the McHenry property on East Pike.
In 1938, she joined Graystone Presbyterian Church and remained a member until her passing.
Through the early years of her life, Geraldine loved working on the farm and helping milk the cows. She later became the caregiver for her mother.
Geraldine enjoyed being social, visiting friends and shut-ins. She also loved her sweet dog, Snoopy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Dale Swartz.
Her family includes 3 nieces, Donna Deihl (Ed) from Florida, Karen Swartz, from Florida, Diane Griffith (Daniel) from Texas, and her sister-in-law Mary (Groft) Swartz from Florida.
A memorial service will be held Friday morning , March 24th at 11AM at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel , Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, a monetary gift can be given in her honor to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Road, Medical Arts Building, Suite # 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
Service arrangements are with the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana where online condolences may be made at rbfh.net.
