Obituary for Annabelle "Ann" Kinter

Annabelle "Ann"  Kinter
Ann Kinter, also known as Annabelle Kinter, age 72, died suddenly, May 30, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late Raymond William and Anna Grace (McKendrick) Kinter, she was born November 18, 1944, in Cleveland, OH.

She was raised in the Rochester Mills area during her childhood and resided in the Shelocta area for the past 27 years. Ann was employed at the Robertshaw Controls Company for 4 ½ years after graduating from Marion Center High School. She then went to work at IUP, retiring as a managerial accountant in June 2002, where she had worked for more than 35 years.

She was a volunteer counselor for The Open Door, serving on its Board of Directors and as President of the Mental Health Association. She served as President of the Family Counsel at the Communities at Indian Haven and Treasurer of the Indiana Chapter of NOW. She also served as the Treasurer of the Coalition for Equity of Indiana County. Finally, she served as the Treasurer and also on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Chapter of PARSE.

Ann was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Ms. Kinter is survived by numerous cousins, especially Dylan and Ryan Shaffer, who were like grandchildren to her, as well as several “feline children”.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Everett William Kinter, who passed away in infancy.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Her service will be held Monday, June 5th at 11AM at the funeral home. Rev. Stephen Bond will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
