Obituary for William Allan Russell

William Allan “Bill” Russell, 62, of Torrance, formerly of Clymer, unexpectedly died at his home, Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Born in Munich, Germany, March 9, 1955, he was the son of the late, Gilbert “Gibby” Russell and Sophie (Dys) Russell.

Bill last worked as a school bus driver for the Penns Manor Area School District. Before that he was a window worker in Pittsburgh and New York City.

Bill served as a U.S. Army Ranger in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Clymer American Legion, the Eagles Club of Indiana and was formerly a member of the Clymer Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his fiancée, Melissa Dustin and her two children, Madison and Devon Kunkle of Torrance. Other survivors include: son, John Lohr, Hastings; sister, Barbara Jobe, Brush Valley; nieces, Melissa Kelly, Amanda Sowa and Tammy Jobe; as well as four great nephews and one great niece.

A visitation for family and friends will be held, Wednesday, December 13th from 5 – 7 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Burial of Bill’s cremated remains will be held in th spring at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Clymer.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, 655 Franklin Street, Clymer, PA 15728 to help pa for Bill’s final expenses.
