Betty Larue (Fairman) Edwards, 79, of Indiana, died suddenly, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 while a patient at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born, August 20, 1938 in Washington Township, Indiana County, she was a daughter of the late, Bert B. Fairman and Edna Grace (Parks) Fairman.

A graduate of Marion Center High School, Betty was a secretary for 30 years for S.W. Jack Drilling and later, Eastern American Energy of Indiana, retiring in 2007.

She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City where she enjoyed being a member of the church quilters and cooking for various church events. Among other interests, Betty participated with Swimnastics at the Indiana County YMCA. Above all else, she liked being with her daughters and their families, including her four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She will be missed by her three daughters: Rita Truitt (Rick), Blairsville; Renee Busi (Bob), Homer City and Karen Drennen, Blairsville. Her grandchildren are: Kayla Strong (Mark), Homer City; Tyler Busi (Brandi), Homer City; Josh Truitt (Monica), Homer City and Kelsey Drennen (Zeke Irwin), Erie. Betty’s great grandchildren are: Jackson Strong, Madilyn Truitt, Liam Busi and Oliver Truitt. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Tost, Indiana.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings: Ronald Fairman, Louise Jevicky, Jean Rolls and Annabelle Wymer.

Friends will be received Friday, February 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Betty’s funeral service will be held Saturday morning at ten o’clock at the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City. Pastor Steve Bond will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
