Obituary for Mary Patricia Henry (Romani)

Mary Patricia (Romani) Henry, 88, of Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in her home. A daughter of the late Domenico Romani and Antoinette (Vallala) Romani, she was born May 29, 1929 in Creekside.

Mary was a 1948 graduate of Indiana High School. Throughout the course of her life she worked for Season-All Windows and Doors in Indiana, in Housekeeping at IUP and as a private duty care worker where she cared for the elderly. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana.

She was a mother to three children, sadly losing an infant son in 1957 and later an adult son, Brock McGinnis, in 1977. Her last son, William R. “Bill” Henry, lived in the same house with her and was by her side, along with other family members, at her passing. Mary deeply loved her family and enjoyed caring for them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to the love and devotion she had for her family, Mary loved caring for her many dogs, over the years. The classic Italian matriarch, she especially loved to cook for everyone and work in her garden to grow fresh vegetables.

Mary is survived by her son, William Roland Henry, Indiana and the following grandchildren: Kayla M. Henry, Justine P. Henry, Courtney L. Henry and Brook McGinnis (Beverly), all of Indiana. She has five great grandchildren: Brock McGinnis, Brandon McGinnis, Bret McGinnis, Bethann McGinnis and Giavanna Henry. Other survivors include her brother, Frank Romani (Libby) and her many nieces and nephews, including Beth Romanie who was her dedicated, private caregiver. She was preceded in death by both parents, two sons, and three brothers: Angelo, Tony and Nick.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 6th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 7th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Brook McGinnis, her grandson will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
