Obituary for Rodney Brewer

Rodney Paul Brewer, 72, of Marion Center, passed away, Monday, May 14, 2018 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Indiana, January 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Carrie (Cunningham) Brewer and Paul Brewer.

Rod enjoyed traveling out west, watching old westerns, NASCAR and was an avid Baltimore Ravens Fan. He was a member of the Saltsburg American Legion Post 57. He also belonged to the Dixonville Moose, the Clymer Slovak Club and Club Savoy in Homer City. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Amish friends.

Rod is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Suwolitch) Brewer, whom he referred to as his “Sunshine” and was the love of his life. He is also survived by his children and step-children: Tonya Stiles (Rory), Curwensville; Khristina Brewer (Jimmy Dale), Clearfield; Scott Rice (Amy), Colliers, WV; Bobbie Jo Bence (Jason), Homer City; Dan Rice (Marisa), York, PA; and Jodie Stillwagon (Jim Bence), Homer City. He will always be remembered as a loving “Pops, Pap, and Paw Paw” to his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Donna Ditch (Jerry), Saltsburg; Ken Brewer (Rosalie), Marion Center; and Randy Brewer (Ranea) Grampian, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rod was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond.

The family of Rodney Paul Brewer, 72, of Marion Center is having a Celebration of Life Service, next Saturday, June 9th from 1 until 3 pm at the Clymer Slovak Club. All of Rod’s friends are invited to come and share their special memories of Rod who died, Monday May 14th.
