Obituary for Mary "Maggie" Gaston (Sarnovsky)

Mary "Maggie"  Gaston (Sarnovsky)
Mary M. “Maggie” (Sarnovsky) Gaston, 83, Dixonville, passed on surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Scenery Hill Manor, in Indiana. Born in Dixonville, July 22, 1934, she was a daughter of the late, Joseph Sarnovsky and Mary (Harchuck) Sarnovsky.

Mary was a devoted homemaker and mother who lovingly cared for her family. Mary enjoyed baking, especially when she baked her famous cinnamon rolls for everyone to enjoy. Mary treasured every minute she spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and going shopping and making purchases on QVC. Another one of Mary’s favorite things was to sit on her porch in the morning as she enjoyed her first cup of coffee while planning the events of the day.

Mary was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer.

Mary will be remembered by her children: David Gaston and companion Rose, Dixonville; Tony Gaston and his wife and daughter-in-law, Tina; and daughter-in-law, Wanda (Brady) Gaston, Barr Slope. Mary will also be missed by her ten grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gaston, who passed June 16, 1988; by her son, Lawrence “Larry” J. Gaston, who passed, February 22, 2017; granddaughter, Ashli Gaston who passed June, 7, 1998 and grandson, Joseph A. Gaston who passed, July 23, 2014. Her deceased siblings are: Joseph, Stephen, Paul, Andrew, and Carl Sarnovsky; infant sister, Emily Sarnovsky; Irene Strehl; Juliana Rushton; and Joanne Fraley.

Visitation will be Friday, June 8th from 5 – 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Her funeral service will begin Saturday, Morning at 10am at the funeral home with Rev. George Saletrik. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dixonville.
