Robert Donald Bush, 92 of Erie, formerly of Indiana, PA died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home at the Niagara Village Retirement Community in Erie, PA. Born in Indiana, January 10, 1926, he was a son of the late Murry Miles Bush and Mary Hulda (McHenry) Bush. He was widowed from Theresa (Brombach) Bush, June 30, 2006.

Bob left high school at the age of 17 to enlist in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served with the 70th Infantry Division (Trailblazers) in Germany. After he returned home he completed his GED. He worked for FMC in Homer City for many years as a tool and die maker until his retirement in 1989. Upon retiring Bob was never complacent, his favorite pastimes included swimming each morning at the YMCA, walking several miles daily and enjoying coffee with his friends at McDonalds.

He was a lifelong member of Graystone Presbyterian Church in Indiana, PA. He was a fun loving and caring guy who shared his talents and love with others. His passion for the outdoors included gardening and mowing lawns in the summer. In the winter there were many opportunities for him to help his neighbors with shoveling and snow blowing.

He was a member of the Commercial Travelers and was a longtime member of the VFW Post 1989 of Indiana.

He is survived by his two children: Donald B. Bush (Dianna), Palmyra, PA and Pamela L. Bush Yandrick (Robert), Erie, PA. He will be sadly missed by the following grandchildren: Brandon and Claire Yandrick; step-grandson, Scott Gill; step-granddaughter, Heather Fridley (Justin) and step-great grandchildren, Holden and Scarlett Fridley.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Bush.

Friends will be received Wednesday evening, June 13th from 6 until 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. His funeral service will begin at 11 AM Thursday morning at the funeral home. Rev. Rick Hurley will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
