Harry David Hollenbaugh, 98 of Homer City, died Sunday morning, July 1, 2018 at the Crystal Waters Personal Care Home in Home. Born, December 18, 1919 in Punxsutawney, he was a son of the late Albert Walter Hollenbaugh and Amanda Pearl (Wolfe) Hollenbaugh. He was the widow of Dorothy Grace (Croyle) Hollenbaugh who died in 1987.

Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was a Private First Class in Company B of the 169th Infantry. Following the war, Harry worked as a coal miner before taking a job with Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown where he was a steel worker for 23 years.

He enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets and bingo games. Harry also liked canning fruits and vegetables at his home. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing in local creeks and streams.

He is survived: daughter, Shirley Mae Jones-Stiles, Sidman; son, Ralph Hollenbaugh (Dorothy), Indiana and by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sister, Alma Rhine, Homer City.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by his daughters: Nancy Long, Betty Price and Carol Crum. Other preceded family members are: son-in-laws, Donald Long, Bill Jones and Joseph Stiles; granddaughter, Cheryl Cassett and great great grandson, William J. Dollak.

Visitation, Thursday July 5th from 5 to 7 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A funeral service will begin at 7pm following the visitation. Pastor Art Lockard will officiate. Burial will be at the Brush Valley Cemetery.
