Obituary for Henrietta Elizabeth "Tootie" Kopsic

Henrietta Elizabeth “Tootie” Kopsic, 85, of Indiana, formerly Penn Run, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Beacon Ridge in Indiana. Born in Chickory Mountain, PA on December 1, 1932, she was a daughter of the late James Smith and Ann (McAvoy) Smith. She was the widow of Boyd Kopsic.

She had previously worked at the former Clark Powell’s Restaurant in Ebensburg. She enjoyed embroidery and sewing. She liked to do jigsaw puzzles and search puzzles. Tootie also listened to polka music and watched old TV shows, especially westerns.

She’s remembered by her two sons: Donald E. Kopsic and Randy L. Kopsic (Carol), all of Penn Run. She will also be missed by her twelve grandchildren, twenty plus great grandchildren and seven plus great great grandchildren. Other survivors include her siblings: Bernard Bishop (Eva May, Vintondale; Robert Bishop (Shirley), Hanover; Judy Dickson (Tom), Maryland; Joe Smith, Twin Rocks; Jean Patrick (Bill), Mundy’s Corner and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Holdsworth, Twin Rocks. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Tootie was preceded in death by her son, Boyd James Kopsic “B.J.” and the following siblings: Margaret Lewis (John); James Smith (Bernadean Mitchell); John Smith (Leaona Stiffler); Marie McCahren (Sam); Eileen Learn (Don); Ken Smith; Ed Doubt (Rose).

Friends will be received, Saturday, October 20th from 3 until 5 and 7 until 9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Her funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Belsano United Brethren Cemetery.
