Obituary for Dorothy Holuta (Kochman)
PrintA 1944 graduate of Clymer High School, Dorothy worked for Robertshaw before starting a career that spanned more than 45 years at Tate’s Super Market, Clymer.
Dorothy was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Greek Church, Clymer. She loved baking rolls and helping serve church dinners. She also loved going to bingo and was a member of the Fireman’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Goodyear and husband Richard of Salisbury, MD; three grandsons, Douglas Goodyear and wife Melissa of Salisbury, MD; Joshua Goodyear and wife Jessica of Baltimore, MD; and Stephen Goodyear and Rosemary Weiland of Salisbury, MD. There are also three surviving great granddaughters: Sophia, Kaylen and Lily Goodyear of Salisbury, MD. Other survivors include; sister-in-law, Julia Galla; nephew, Curtis Galla and several nieces and nephews
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Michael “Sam” Holuta who died January 15, 2016, and by her siblings: Ellen Wanchisn; Mary Elizabeth Bunyak; Irene Kuzemchak; and brothers, Joe, Steve, George and Paul Kochman.
Friends will be received Friday, November 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. A Panachida Service will begin at 5 PM Friday at the funeral home. Her funeral service will begin at 10 AM Saturday morning at St. Michael Orthodox Greek Church with the Very Reverend Matthew Conjelko. Interment will be made in the St. Michael Orthodox Greek Cemetery.
