Our Local Obituaries in Clymer and Indiana

If you have recently lost a loved one, please accept our deepest condolences and sympathies. Our local obituaries page is a resource for you to locate information about current services or browse through our past services.

With each of our local obituaries, there is an interactive online memorial through the book of memories. It is comprised of the death notice and a space where friends and other members of the community can leave a message of condolence to the family. You can also share photos and videos of the deceased on social media and other platforms with ease. If you wish to send flowers to the family, you can order through our online store. We will have a florist deliver the package to the family at the funeral home.

Ensure that you browse to find the obituary of your loved one. Once you do so, you can comment on other people’s stories about the deceased, or leave a tribute. A tribute can contain memories you enjoyed with the deceased, stories you shared, and photos you had with them. Family members can then revisit this section in the future whenever they wish.

Local Obituary Pricing & Submission Information

Today most newspapers have changed the way they deal with obituary submissions. Many newspapers in Pennsylvania and throughout the U.S. demand a rather significant publication fee, based on word count or the number of column inches used. And of course, there is usually an extra fee for any photograph submitted with the obituary.

Thankfully, here in our area, the Indiana Gazette is a more reasonable newspaper when it comes to obituary fees. Although they recently raised their prices on January 1, 2023, the Indiana Gazette is still one of the most affordable newspapers in our area for printing obituaries. Please review the information below regarding their fees.

  • Obituaries up to 6 column inches long are $ 150 for the first day. If the obituary is repeated for a second day the charge would be 50% off of the original price.

The overall price of an obituary is influenced by the use of a photo. The Indiana Gazette regards the use of a photo in an obituary as simply adding to the overall                        length and cost of the obituary.

  • Obituaries longer than 6 column inches are billed at $ 25 per additional inch over the base price of $ 150.

If you elect to add a photo, it will be included in the cost that is made for the measurement. It will not be considered as an additional expense.

The average length of obituaries in our area is between 8 to 10 inches.

The Indiana Gazette publishes obituaries Monday through Saturday.

The deadline to submit an obituary for the next day's newspaper is 4PM, Sunday through Friday. We ask that all obituaries be submitted to our funeral home by 3:00 PM so we have enough time to create and format the document and/or  photo files that will be sent to the newspaper.

The fees listed above are the fees of the Indiana Gazette. The funeral home does not profit from obituary announcements. All obituary fees are passed on to the family or the person responsible for paying the expenses of the deceased.

* Other newspapers in different towns will have their own obituary fees and deadlines for submissions.
