Obituary for Leonard M "Mac" Edder

Leonard M. “Mac” Edder, 89 of Indiana, PA., passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home.
He was the son of George and Elsie (Stover) Edder, born on July 6, 1924 in Salina, PA.

For 25 years Mac was a salesman for ERIEZ Magnetics, he later sold them for another 10 years through his own company, Penn Central Sales.

Mac was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana where he was a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, Boy Scout leader and played basketball in a local league. He was an avid golfer and had many hobbies; glass & jewelry making, woodworking and bread making. He loved to interact with people, tell stories or jokes, read, play the organ and spend time with his family. Mac was a member of the Indiana Country Club for over 50 years. He was a classic gentleman who people found comfortable to be around. Mac enjoyed taking care of his family and asked little in return. He was known for being a kind, caring and well respected man. Mac was also proud to serve as a United States Marine.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Colbert) Edder of Indiana; brother, Norris Edder and wife Barb of OH; sisters, Phyllis Staniscia of Indiana; Neila Riggle of Salina, PA; Jeannine Shoupe and husband John of Salina, PA; grandchildren; Kevin Lazor of Indiana; Jonathan Rapuk and wife Brittany of Pittsburgh; Michael Rapuk and wife Samantha of Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren, Raegan McKay Rapuk and Daniel McKay Rapuk; step-children, Robert Lonsdale and wife Joanne of Indiana; Scott Lonsdale and wife Sharon of CA; Susan Rockhold and husband Mark of CA; step-grandchildren, Leland and Katie Lonsdale and Levi, Luke and Paige Rockhold and many nieces and nephews.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Margaret (McCormick) Edder in 1989; one daughter, Kathy Rapuk.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. David Hanna, officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites provided by Indiana VFW post 1989.
