Jeanne I  Oakes (Meanor)
Jeanne I. Meanor Oakes went to her Heavenly home on May 13, 2014, with her family at her side. She was born November 2, 1925 in Pittsburgh, to John W. Meanor and Lola K. Clemson Meanor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John E. (Jack) Meanor and Edward E. Oakes, father of her children.

She is survived by her loving children, Kathryn (Robert) Seibert, Ebensburg; Patricia (Andrew) Miller, Starford; and Dennis, Johnstown. Also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Niebauer and Jill Fayak of Ebensburg and Nicole and Drew Miller, of Starford. She was a proud great-grandmother to Annaliese, Burke and Ardenne Niebauer; Ian and Kylie Anderson; and Colin, Jacob and Blaise Fayak, all of Ebensburg. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Lori Meanor and nephew, John W. Meanor, both of Henderson, NV.

Jeanne retired as an R.N., last working at Indian Haven. She took great joy in helping her patients and her fellow staff members. She enjoyed every minute with her children and loved family gatherings. They were very important to her. She especially loved playing bingo and she always kept busy building puzzles, playing cards, reading and crocheting. She loved to make and give to others beautiful afghans.

She was previously a member of VFW Post 1989, the Clymer Legion Post 222 and Clymer Fire Auxiliary. Jeanne also volunteered for Red Cross Blood Drives.

At her request, there will be no public visitation or viewing. Interment will be at the Marion Center Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jeanne’s memory to: Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC c/o Cardiac Unit, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
