Obituary for Robert Zahoransky

Robert “Bob” Zahoransky, 72 of Sinnemahoning, PA, died Sunday, January 31st while visiting in Indiana. The son of the late Steve Zahoransky and Margaret E. (Klamar) Zahoransky, Bob was born in Dixonville, March 31, 1943.

A graduate of Purchase Line High School, he first worked as a steelworker in the steel mills of Cleveland. He later moved to Sinnemahoning, where he owned and operated the C& Z Tavern.

Bob loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Sinnemahoning Sportsmans Club.

He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, Driftwood, PA. He had also attended St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and St. Thomas More University Parish.

Bob is survived by his loving companion, Dottie Gauntner, of Indiana. He is also survived by siblings James Schick and wife Louise, of Center Valley; Margaret “Peggy” Patrick and husband, Ray of Crabtree; and Helen Hayes and husband, Edward of Mentor, OH. Sisters-in-law Juana Zahoransky, of Cedar Rapids, IA and Marge Zahoransky, of Twinsburg, OH also survive him, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Stephen and Edward Zahoransky.

Bob enriched the lives of all he knew while he was with us and he will continue to touch many others in his passing with his gift of life as an organ donor.

Friends will be received at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 6th, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana is assisting the family.
