Obituary for David Angelo

David Frank Angelo, 69, Indiana, unexpectedly died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the ER at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born, September 12, 1947 in Indiana, he was a son of the late Frank Albert Angelo and Gladys Genevieve (Gallusi) Angelo.

David was a graduate of Indiana High School and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a B.S. and M.S in Mathematics. He first worked as a Math instructor at Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg for eleven years prior to starting a thirty year career in the U.S. Army. He worked in the military branch of the Army Corps of Engineers and retired as a Lt. Colonel. David was awarded the Legion of Merit.

Following his military career, David worked for First Commonwealth Bank in Indiana for eleven years as a financial analyst.

He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion posts of Indiana. He was also an outdoor enthusiast who loved to fish and hunt. David belonged to the Sinnemahoning and Red Barn Sportsman’s Clubs. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers and Pirates. He also belonged to the Indiana Eagles, Elks and Moose clubs.

He is survived by his sons: Martin D. Angelo, Indiana and David W. Angelo, Indiana County. Other survivors include his siblings: Marilyn Nixon & husband, Michael, Fernandina Beach, FL; Rita Forhan & husband, Paul, El Paso, TX and Mark Angelo & wife, Holly, Cherry Tree.

Friends will be received Friday, December 23rd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. His funeral service will start at 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Federline officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
