Obituary for Helen Louise Zias (Lazarick)

Helen Louise (Lazarick) Zias, 71, of Clymer, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born in Bronx, NY, July 11, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Lazarick and Eva (Matula) Lazarick. Helen moved to the Clymer area as a small child. She was the wife of Stephen C. Zias, Jr. They were married for the past 32 years, however they spent 45 years together as a couple.

She was a graduate of Penns Manor High School. For many years she worked as a Home Health Aide giving support to families dealing with health issues. She was also a care giver for her husband, Steve, for many years.

Helen enjoyed Bingo, yard sales, visiting with friends, collecting memorabilia, socializing at the American Legion, Clymer days and other special events in the community. She loved her family and friends, and had a special place in her heart for her cats, Screech and Tiger.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; niece, Christine Bloch; brother-in-law, Barry Zias (Annmarie); and sister-in-law, Cynthia Goletz (George).

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by the following siblings: Thomas, Joseph and Agnes Lazarick.

The Zias family wishes to thank the staff of the Cambria Care Center for their support, and also to Alice Orange, for her loyal friendship and assistance during Helen’s Illness.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 16th at 11:00AM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Her cremated remains will be interred at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at a later date.
