Obituary for Goldie Cecilia Ondrizek (Kephart)

Goldie Cecilia  Ondrizek (Kephart)
Goldie Cecelia (Kephart) Ondrizek, 91, of Strongstown, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Communities at Indian Haven. She was the widow of Herbert Joseph Ondrizek, who died February 27, 1993.

Born October 6, 1926 in Belsano, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Kephart and Ethel Christiana (Blickenderfer) Kephart.

Goldie was a homemaker. She enjoyed music and formerly played the French horn, piano and organ. She also loved to sing. She was an avid reader. She liked to sew and quilt and also did needlepoint and cross stitch. Later in life she became a hospice volunteer.

She was a member of the Indiana Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served as an Elder and a Deaconess. She also taught Sabbath school and played the organ and piano for services.

Goldie is survived by her children: Herbert Theodore “Ted” Ondrizek and his wife Kimberly, of Strongstown; Carol Ruth Diffee and her husband Glenn, of Beverly Hills, FL; Kathryn Jean Senger and her husband, Larry, of Olney, MD; Donna Ione O’Neal and her husband Mike, of Denver, NC; and Janet Cecelia Marts, of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Gayle Cordwell, Christy O’Neal, Steven O’Neal, Heather Johnson and Ashle Walker; three step-grandchildren: David Perry, Kristi Elliott and Missy Shirley; as well as 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and her sister, Ruth Lantz.

Friends will be received Monday evening, October 23rd from 6 until 8 PM at the Rairigh- Bence Funeral Home, of Indiana. Another hour of visitation will begin at 10AM Tuesday morning at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1496 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, where her funeral service will begin at 11 AM with her pastor, Gerald Small. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
