I had the experience of enjoying Betty and Peter beginning in 2001. Dave and i visited a couple times a year, which we enjoyed. Pete would drop us by the subway,The Metro, to visit The Mall and Smithsonians. We without failure, we would stop in IHop for breakfast, lunch at Joe’s and dinner at Chinese. Occasionally, we enjoyed a special Sunday brunch. When Nolan was born in 2006, and we made our first visit when he was 9 months of age. How fun!!! They were prepared to celebrate and Pete frequently picked out a small gift for Nolan. We visited twice a year thereafter and enjoyed Nolan getting to know his grandparents. When Nolsn turned 1, they had a small cake and blew bubbles for him. Was so cute. Nolan would toddle around the home on Birch Rd. And before long the steps were an issue and Pete fixed the steps right up. We were able to plan our visit around Thanksgiving at times and Betty always had a traditional Thanksgiving meal planned down to the last detail with a beautiful set dinner table. I could tell her family was important to her and she loved them. After they moved from Birch Rd to Roanoke, Nolan was in school now and our visits were less often, but always enjoyed. We are thankful Nolan had an opportunity to visit enough to know them and has memories and I am thankful as well. Blessings and love to all the family and to Betty and Peter. Peace
