Obituary for Mary Anne Tambellini

Mary Anne (Henke) Tambellini, 87, of Indiana died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Pittsburgh, March 5, 1930, she was a daughter of the late, Theodore and Stella Henke. She was the widow of Louis Tambellini who died June 13, 1998. They shared nearly 50 years together and were the parents of six children.
She was a co-owner of Tambellini’s Restaurant, employed by the Decatur Illinois School District, and a local antique dealer.
Mary Anne was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish. Over the course of her life she had served as a CDC Teacher, Eucharistic Minister on the Apostolic Works Committee, and was a Junior CDA counselor. She was a member of the CD of A Court 339.
Mary Anne was an active member at Our Lady of Grace Church, Pittsburgh, Our Lady of Lourdes, Decatur, IL, and St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Indiana.
She was an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America, Meals on Wheels, AARP, Indiana Hospital Auxiliary and the Indiana Duplicate Bridge.
She will be missed by her children and their families: Deborah Poloff, Elderton and her children: Aaron Scott Poloff, Stephanie Clark (Doug), Erik Poole (Denise) and Kurt Poole (Alanna); Renee Lentz (John), Macungie and their children: John D. Lentz (Uliana) and Dante Lentz; Laura Jeffrey (Robert), Lucernemines, and son, James W. Skidmore; Richard Tambellini, Nashville, TN and his children: Charles Tambellini (Andrea), Christian Tambellini and Louis Tambellini: Dante Tambellini (Rozella) , Altoona their children: Micheal Tambellini (Katy), Dante Tambellini (Samantha) and Dominique Tambellini-Singer (Zachary). Mary Anne is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include her siblings: John Henke (Betty), and Margie Benson, both of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Anne was preceded in death by an infant son, the following siblings: Paul, Theodore, Jr., and Thomas Henke , Dolly Kerrigan and her Son in Law, Anthony Poloff.
Friends will be received Tuesday afternoon, February 13th from noon until 1PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1:30 PM at St. Thomas More University Parish in Indiana. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
