Obituary for Barbara Pozzini (Barr)

Barbara  Pozzini (Barr)
Barbara (Barr) Pozzini, 79, Dixonville, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 22, 1938 in Fulton Run, she was a daughter of the late, Elzie Barr and Ellen (Utberg) Barr. She was the widow of Reno Pozzini, who died January 2, 2013. They were married July 16, 1960, sharing 52 years of marriage together.

A 1956 graduate of Marion Center High School, Barb was a homemaker who helped raise three sons. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always caring for them, cooking for them and supporting them through life’s journey. Her family will miss her famous Christmas Eve meals at her home.

Barb was a member of the UMWA Womens Auxiliary Local 1412. She also belonged to the Dixonville Moose where she was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 2141.

Barbara is survived by her sons: Anthony Pozzini, McIntyre; Joseph Pozzini (Tammy), Northern Cambria; and Mark Pozzini (Betty Jo) Dixonville. Her three grandchildren: Michael Pozzini, Nick Pozzini, and Bella Pozzini. Her step-grandchildren: Randy Eagler, Matthew Shotts, Rita Shotts, and David Panell and her step-great grandchildren: Kyra Rose Falcone, Madison Eagler, and John, Alex and Henry Lechene. Her surviving sisters are: Alice Kantz (Wilson), Starford; Toni Clawson (Dennis), Clymer; and Connie Little, Prosperity Hill.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her sister Sandra Rhea, and her brother-in-law, Alvin Little.

Friends will be received Friday, February 16th from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer, where her funeral service will be held Saturday morning at eleven o’clock with Rev. Calvin Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in the East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line.
