Obituary for Helen L. Aloi (Anderchin)

Helen L. ( Anderchin) Aloi, 82, formerly of Starford, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Indiana. Born, March 23, 1935 in St. Michaels, Cambria County, she was a daughter of the late George Anderchin and Margaret (Hvidosh) Anderchin. She was the wife of John A. Aloi of Home, PA. They were married September 27, 1958 and had celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Helen enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was talented at crocheting and also liked to knit. She and her husband, John, both had green thumbs as they loved working together in their vegetable and flower gardens. Helen also loved the times when her family was all together.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lockard and husband Rick, of Indiana. Her grandchildren are: Zachary and Amanda Lockard, both of Indiana, and Ashley and Jonathan Aloi, both of Brush Valley. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Carrie Aloi, Brushvalley. Helen will be remembered by her brother James Anderchin and wife, Lois; brother-in-law, Anthony Aloi and sister-in-law, Mary Sabo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her: son, John J. Aloi; sister, Mary Ann Bacha; brother-in-laws, Chuck Bacha; Nunziato Aloi; Steve Sabo; Frank Aloi; Nicholas Kanyan; sister-in-laws, Annabelle Aloi; Rita Aloi and Carmella Kanyan.

Friends will be received Monday, March 19th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, of Clymer. Another visitation hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 Am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 20th at eleven o’clock at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
