Condolence: To Maria and John’s wonderful family.... We were so saddened to learn of Maria’s passing, and extend to you our deepest sympathies. Maria called me “Rupe”, a nickname I was given at the Open Door, where we worked together for many many years, and shared a friendship that I will treasure forever. She had the most delightful personality, and was the kindest, most loving person I have ever met—and always there for everyone with positivity and comforting words if you had a challenge to overcome. I can’t put into words how our friendship changed my life. Just being around her every day influenced me to strive to emulate her kindness, compassion, and sincerity. She will always be a bright light in my life and I’m sure many many others as well. We will miss and continue to celebrate the lives of Maria and John, two extraordinarily beautiful souls. The world is a better place for the way they lived their lives. They were extremely proud of their family, and rightly so. Thank you for sharing them with all of us. Again, we are thinking of you all, and send you our sympathies.

Condolence: I was pleased to be John and Maria's neighbor for several years. The morning after we moved in, Maria arrived with freshly baked scones. Standing on either side of her white picket fence, I enjoyed many lively chats with her. When I received devastating medical news, she was there with a bear hug and supportive words. I'll always admire the fearless abandon with which she headed outside in pursuit of her collie, Alex. :-) She was/is a bright light. My condolences to her family.

Condolence: We were so sorry to hear of Maria's passing. Maria was a wonderful person, and we will miss her greatly. I will especially miss our phone conversations to discuss a favorite piece of music or performance. She brought kindness and comfort to all, friend and stranger. With sympathy and prayers for her family, of whom she was rightly proud.

Condolence: I'm so sorry to hear of Maria's passing; I met Maria when she bought her first collie puppy from us; it was a surprise for her children when they returned from a vacation. We joked that I had visitation rights - and we would share stories about our collies. I also worked with her at St. Andrew's Village and on projects when she was at the Open Door. She was such a positive, kind and caring person. To her family - I extend my sympathy.

Condolence: Mrs. Dietz was truly one of a kind. Our parents met the Dietz’s through the Bridge Club in Indiana. Mrs. Dietz infectious personality touched us all in some way. Her great laugh, smile or her hug during difficult times, Mrs. Dietz seemed to pull into our parent’s driveway at the right time. We offer our condolences to the Dietz family.
