Obituary for Virginia Irene Hill (Cline)
Virginia Irene (Cline) Hill, 90, of Shelocta, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in Leechburg, February 14, 1928, she was the daughter of William Cline and Edith (Shaffer) Cline McLaughlin.
Virginia loved the Lord and is now at home with Jesus Christ. She attended Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Indiana. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, and had a Green Thumb with her house plants. Virginia was a very hospitable person who loved having visitors, especially when she hosted her Bible study group. She was an avid watcher of Fox News.
For many years Virginia worked at the former Foodland store on Wayne Avenue and later worked at the Giant Eagle Store on 7th Street.
Virginia is survived by her daughters: Helen E. Bost, Indiana; JoLinda H. Bark (William), West Terre Haute, IN; Mary A. Libengood (Ernie), Blairsville; and Ruth V. Shock (Sam), China. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her cousin Marie Elliott.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hill. Her siblings: Paul Cline, Dean Cline, Betty Toperzer, M.D., and her great-great granddaughter, Remi Rose.
Friends will be received at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana on Friday, July 20th from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10 AM, Pastor Doug Snyder will officiate. Interment will follow in the Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifesong for Orphans, checks can be sent to: Lifesong for Orphans, PO Box 40, Gridley, Ill 61744. Please state in the check the donation is for Sam & Ruth Shock or Hope's House.
