Obituary for Geraldine Lockard (Kantz)
Geraldine (Kantz) Lockard, 86, of Indiana, formerly of Uniontown, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born December 1, 1931 in Hillsdale, she was a daughter of the late Victor Kantz and Rose (Barkey) Kantz. She was the widow of Miles Lockard, who died July 14, 2002. They had been married 49 years.
A graduate of the former Montgomery Township High School, she had worked for Season All Industries in Indiana for nearly 25 years.
She enjoyed caring for and loving her dog, Cocoa, going for long walks and playing solitaire and pac-man on her computer. Most of all, Geraldine treasured the time she had with her children and grandchildren.
She’ll be remembered by her children: Gary T. Lockard (Debra), Uniontown; Cindy K. Lockard, Indiana; and Ricky A. Lockard (Barbara), Indiana, PA. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Lockard, Ford City; Garry Lockard, Uniontown; Zachary Lockard, Indiana; Amanda Lockard, Indiana and two great grandchildren: Lee Thomas Lockard and Quinn Lockard. Other survivors include her sister, Annabelle Rio, Penfield, PA, brother, Wilson Kantz, Commodore and also survived by other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her son, John Lockard; brothers: Blake Kantz; Jack Kantz; Calvin Kantz; and a sister, Mary Kantz.
Friends will be received Sunday evening, December 2nd from 6 to 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana, where her funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 PM. Rev. Wes Yoder officiation. Burial will be in the Uniontown Cemetery, Cherry Tree.
