Obituary for David W. Crock

David Wayne Crock, 62, of Pottstown, formerly of Indiana, unexpectedly passed away at his home, Tuesday, March 12th 2019. He was born on November 2, 1956 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He was a son of the late George Howard Crock Sr. and Mary (Bompiani) Crock. On November 9, 1996 he married the love of his life, Christine Lauver. He was the loving, proud father to their son, George Alexander Crock.

David was a 1975 graduate of Indiana Area High School. He also graduated from IUP with Bachelor of Science in Business. He has been employed as a salesman for Pratt Industries in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. In 2012 he won the Platinum Pinnacle Award, their highest honor, and in 2013 he won the Gold Award.

David enjoyed life in all that he did and with all whom he met. Though he was skilled in his hobbies of golfing and fly fishing, he will always be remembered for being kind, giving and caring. David also excelled at being the life of the party. He lit up the room with his smile, laugh and his dancing. David was willing to help in fixing problems and persistent until it was resolved. In turn he would not hesitate to ask for help and guidance. His life was reflection of his beliefs in his faith, family and friends.

He was a member of the Elks Club and Allied Club of Indiana. He served as a board member on the Upper Pottsgrove Sewer Committee. Growing up in Indiana, Dave was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana Pennsylvania. He enjoyed all sports and was a season ticket holder for Penn State Football.

In addition to his wife Chris and his son Alex, David will be missed by his siblings: Mary Ann Crock, Indiana; Kathleen Harrison (Mark), Greensburg; Dr. Frederick Crock (Kathleen), Pittsburgh; Diane Daskivich (Bruce), Indiana; brother-in-law, William Wilson Lauver, Morgantown, WV; brother-in-law, Mark David Lauver (Sue Ann), Indiana; and father-in-law, Dr. C. William Lauver, Indiana. Dave is also remembered by the following nieces and nephews: George Tyler Crock, Pittsburgh; Kïrsten Nagy Crock(fiancé, Marco Sanchez), Brooklyn, NY; Grant Daskivich, Indiana; Victoria, Steven, Christina and Donovan Lauver, all of Pittsburgh; Christopher William Lauver, Buffalo, NY; and Keaton Marie Lauver, Indiana.

David was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George H. Crock, Jr. and mother-in-law, Doris L. Lauver.

David loved deeply and lived his life fully with an warm smile and giving heart. Please share your smiles with the people that you meet today and always.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 17th, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana.
