Obituary for Clarence M. "Bones" Steetle

Clarence M. “Bones” Steetle, 85, of Indiana, died at his home, Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Born, May 16, 1933 in Home, PA, he was a son of the late Charles Robert Steetle and Elizabeth (Lydic) Steetle. He was widower of Margaret J. (Kowchuck) Steetle who died January 1, 1991.

Bones, as he was known by to most of his friends, was the maintenance supervisor for Indiana Borough for 46 years. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to fish and was remembered by one of his grandchildren as the best fisherman he ever knew. Clarence was also a handy carpenter who could fix or build just about anything. He was known for his birdhouses and homemade furniture.

He will be missed by his children: Ronald L. Steetle (Amy), Parkwood and Linda Cochran (Gerald), Cleveland, GA. Other surviving family members include his grandchildren: Wade Steetle (Jamie), Indiana; Leah Steetle, Indiana; Nicole Pope (Joe), Pittsburgh; Andrew Steetle, Smithfield; Katie Steetle, Indiana; Michelle Steetle, Indiana, and great grandchildren: Gage and Sunnie Steetle, Indiana; Jordan Pope, Pittsburgh, and Lexi Steetle, Smithfield. Other surviving family members include his five siblings.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Michael G. Steetle who died December 7, 2017.

Service arrangements are private. Burial will be with his wife at the Washington Church Cemetery, Home, PA.
