Obituary for Sue Anderson

Sue (Rodak) Anderson, 91, of Commodore, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Rodak and Helen (Philip) Rodak. She was born December 8, 1927 in Commodore, where she lived her entire life surrounded by her family and friends.

Sue's greatest joy came from her marriage, family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was married to the late Andrew (Rudy) Anderson Jr, whom she missed dearly. She also missed sitting at the table sipping tea and chatting with her sisters who had all gone before her.

In her younger days, Sue worked at the former CBC Company Store and after being a devoted stay at home mother, she became a cashier and lunch monitor at the former Commodore Elementary School, and then Purchase Line South Elementary School. She and her husband, Rudy, along with other members of the community, were instrumental in converting the former Company Store into the Commodore Community Center. She enjoyed being a part of so many others' joyous occasions.

Sue was a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church where she attended services regularly. She also spent countless hours preparing food, serving meals and making rolls with her friends. She loved her faith and its traditions. She was a devout and faithful servant until her passing where she looked forward
to being welcomed into his heavenly kingdom.

She is survived by her children: Andrew (Bob) Anderson and wife Charlotte of Manassas, VA; and Andrea Perkovich and husband Joe of Commodore. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Amanda Anderson and fiancé Jon Jennings, Stephanie Kline and husband Jason, Joey Perkovich and fiancé Cassie Ulisse, and Zachary Anderson. Her great grandchildren, Cameron and Natalie Kline, will greatly miss their Buba.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sue is preceded in death by her siblings: John Rodak, Helen Gaydosh, Ann Rodak, and Mary Kohut.

Friends will be received Wednesday, May 15 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. A Panachida Service will begin at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Father Matthew Conjelko. Her funeral service will begin at 10 AM Thursday morning at St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church with the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Frank Miloro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
