Obituary for Karen Ann Rideout (Zimmerman)
Karen Ann (Zimmerman) Rideout, 72, of Indiana, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born November 28, 1946 in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Ross Zimmerman, Jr. and Althea “Betty” Charlene (Johns) Zimmerman. She was the widow of Patrick James Rideout who died February 21, 2011.
Karen was a 1965 graduate of Purchase Line High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, adult coloring books and all types of crafting. Karen also liked to reminisce through family photo albums, take long car rides and sit on her porch on nice sunny days.
She is survived by her daughters: Linda M. Livingston (John, Sr.), Brush Valley and Sandra J. Smith, Johnstown. Her grandchildren are: Shane Cramer, DuBois; and Anthony, Lance and Dustin Cramer, all of Brush Valley. Karen’s great grandchildren are: Miranda Wickles, Erie; and Natalie and Joshua Cramer, DuBois.
Other survivors include her companion, with whom she lived with in Indiana, Donald Campbell, Sr. She will also be missed by her siblings: Barbara Helman (Kenneth), Indiana; Janet Nichol, Indiana; Diane Deyarmin (Theodore), Cherry Tree; Sharon Guskiewicz (Jerome), Myrtle Beach, SC; and Phillip Zimmerman, III “Sudz”, Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her half-brother, Phillip Barry Zimmerman.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from noon until 2PM, the time of her funeral service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Burial will be held at the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
