Obituary for David Ray McCoy

David Ray McCoy, 62, of Clymer, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born January 31, 1957, in Punxsutawney, he was a son of the late William E. McCoy and Aletha (White) McCoy. He was married to Nina J. (Buchanan) McCoy for 38 years.

He went to Rosedale Tech Institute, later working in maintenance for the Marion Center Area School District for 31 years.

David was a jack of all trades and a very active member of his community. He was involved in the following organizations: Northern Livestock 4H Club where he was a leader for more than 25 years; Marion Center Lions Club; he was on the Cookport Fair Board of Directors; Sonday in the Park; ICART; he was Vice President of the Twolick Valley Rod & Gun Club; on the Indiana County Jr. Livestock committee; he was a New Horizons Foundation board member; committee member with the PA Farm Show Jr. Swine Committee; on the Penns Manor Ag Advisory Committee; a honorary member of the Penns Manor FFA Chapter; volunteered at the community kitchen; he played Santa Claus for local children; he enjoyed helping kids of all ages and was an avid hunter with his great nephew, Zach. He liked sports, loved to watch WWE Wrestling, and Blue Bloods, he also loved his little buddy, Dusty. David truly loved every bit of every activity he was a part of.

Although Dave was in a lot of activities, most of all he loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind. He was a longtime member and elder of the Clymer Christian and Missionary Alliance Church; David loved his church and his church family.

In addition to his wife, Nina, David is survived by his two daughters: Jeannette McCoy, and Kelly McCoy, both of Clymer. He is also survived by his siblings: Janice Brilhart, Indiana; Mary Kinter (Dennis), Indiana; Kenneth McCoy (Kim), La Porte, IN; Richard McCoy (Carol), Gastown; Donna Trudgen (Randy), Sunnyside; Diane Gould (Thomas Sr.), Dayton; and Donald McCoy (significant other, Maria), Illinois. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the following siblings: Doris Huller, William McCoy, Robert McCoy, and Michael McCoy. His nephews: James McCoy and Thomas Gould, Jr., and his brother in law Lisle Brilhart.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 19th from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Clymer and again Thursday, June 20th from 10 until 11 AM, the time of his funeral service at the Clymer Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Reverend Samuel R. Keefer will officiate. Interment will be private.
