Obituary for Frances Adele Rushnok (Cooper)
Frances Rushnok, age 81, of Ashland, Ohio (formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana) passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
Fran was born on October 5, 1937 in Buffalo, New York to Francis and Adele (Walker) Cooper. She grew up in nearby Blasdell and graduated from Frontier Central High School in 1956. She married Edward Rushnok on September 2, 1967 in Buffalo.
Fran worked at Valparaiso University School of Law from 1980 to 1990. Later, she earned a paralegal degree, turning her lifelong interest in law into a new career. After Ed retired, they moved to Sumter, SC, where she earned her real estate license and became a Realtor. They moved to Ashland, Ohio in 2006, where she volunteered with the Ashland County Cancer Association.
Fran is survived by son Raymond (Tracey) Rushnok of Lacrosse, Indiana; daughter Rebecca (Jeffrey) Cameron of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by Ed on August 15, 2015; her parents, and brothers Edward, Patrick and Michael.
Service will be 11am on Saturday, August 24 at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Clymer, Pennsylvania, with calling one hour prior. Interment immediately following at St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church Cemetery.
