Obituary for Darlh Lee Morris (Cornell)

Darlh Lee (Cornell) Morris, 87, of Indiana, died Friday, September 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family after battling Lymphoma for 17 years and Pancreatic Cancer for the last two years. Born in Uledi, December 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Floyd A. Cornell and Audrey (Wasson) Cornell. She married Rev. Eugene James Morris on August 5, 1961; they were married for 58 years.

Darhl was a 1950 graduate of Brownsville Sr. High School; she went on to attend the Southern Wesleyan University, and the Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended God’s Bible School & College in Cincinnati, OH; and the University of Cincinnati Ohio where she received her master’s degree in Education. She taught in a Cincinnati public school district for two years.

She was a member of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church, Indiana. In 1963, she and her husband Eugene started the Indiana Wesleyan School, which was the 1st school in the conference. Darlh was also the president of the Church Women’s Missionary Society.

In addition to her husband, Darlh is survived by her two children: David Eugene Morris, and his wife, Shelley, Missoula, MT; and Daniel William Morris, and his wife, Liza, Las Vegas, NV. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Justin K. Morris, Garrett N. Morris, Kegan L. Morris, Hannah F. Morris, and Joshua E. Morris; her brother Rev. William Cornell and his wife Betty, Beyer, and her nieces and nephew: Debb, Darla, and Mark.

Friends will be received Friday, September 20th, from 6 until 9PM at the Rairigh- Bence Funeral Home, of Indiana. Additional viewing will be at the Wesleyan Methodist Church at the corner of 12th and Church Streets from 9:30 until 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 21st. Her funeral will follow at 10:30 AM, Pastor Ben Blowers will officiate. Burial will take place in the Zion Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery, Mercer County.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to the Richard Laube Cancer Center: 100 Nolte Dr. Kittanning, PA 16201 or the hospice team with AsceraCare: 100 CTC Dr. #110, Johnstown, PA 15904 for the outstanding care and love given to Darlh.
