Obituary for Velma "Belle" Pearl Muir (Shirley)

Velma “Belle” Pearl (Shirley) Muir, 80, of Heilwood, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at AristaCare at Hillsdale Park. Born, October 22, 1938 in Buffington Township, she was a daughter of the late John Shirley and Velma Nevada (Marsh) Shirley. She was the wife of the late Ellsworth Muir, Jr. they were married for 25 years before he passed on March 5, 1985.

Belle was the ultimate house-keeper; she loved taking care of her home. She also liked baking for her family and friends, spending time with her cat, going shopping and looking for bargains, she also enjoyed crafting, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Heilwood Presbyterian Church.

Belle is survived by her children: Karla Zrioka, and her husband, Donald, of Vero Beach, FL; Marvin L. Muir, and his wife, Lori, of Heilwood; Brenda J. Muir-Hippchen, and her husband, David, of Heilwood; and Keith A. Muir, and his wife, Amy, of Heilwood. Her 8 grandchildren: Cheryl Zrioka, Renee Klauck, David Hippchen, Courtney Muir, Nathan Muir, Brooke Muir, Jason Hippchen, and Brian Hippchen; her 9 great-grandchildren: Mark Coleman, Devin Manners, Dakota Hippchen, Jason Hippchen, Casey Hippchen, Mercedes Hippchen, Kody Klauck, Emily Bianco, and Ellie Klauck. She will also be missed by her sisters: Letty Miller, and Twila Danmire, both of Blairsville; numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend, John Williams of Loretto.

In addition to her parents and husband, Belle is preceded in death by her Life Partner, Raymond “Lefty” Lindahl, her brothers: Stanley Shirley, Arthur Shirley, Ken Shirley, Bob Shirley, Dean Shirley, Don Shirley, Len Shirley, Ted Shirley, Ruth Houle, and Jean Ritchie.

Friends will be received on Monday, September 30th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Clymer. Her funeral service will take place Tuesday morning, October 1st at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Hospice Chaplain, Bob Kephart will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
