Obituary for William A. Karahalios
William A. Karahalios, 54, of Indiana, died Friday, November 1, 2019, at his home. He was born in Toronto, Canada, on October 28, 1965, to Smaro (Charvalis) Karahalios, of Indiana, and the late Tomes V. Karahalios.
Bill graduated high school from the Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, and later went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated with a degree in Media Communications.
He worked at the family business, Tom’s Pizza in Indiana for many years. At the restaurant he did an assortment of jobs, but most often worked as a delivery driver. Bill also worked at Renda Broadcasting for the last 9 years.
Bill loved, and was very knowledgeable of Pittsburgh Sports. Whether it was the Pirates, Steelers, or Penguins, he would be cheering them on and knew just about everything of all 3 sports teams. He also loved to watch the Lakers.
He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Pittsburgh, where he made many lifelong friends.
In addition to his mother, Bill will be missed by his sister, Kristina Karahalios of Indiana.
Friends will be received at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana on Wednesday, November 6th, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. His funeral service will be private. Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the Karahalios family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society: 351 Budfield St. Johnstown, PA 15904.
