Obituary for Lillian Braun
Lillian Ruth Braun, 79, of Cherry Tree, died Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 17, 1940, to the late Nicholas Braun and Gyrlyndyne Romain (Andrew) Braun Craig.
She graduated from Harmony High School, and later went on to attend nursing school at Lee Hospital in Johnstown, Pa. where she became an LPN. She did various types of nursing from private duty caring for special needs babies, caring for the elderly in nursing homes, to her favorite of all working in the operating room. She also worked as a school bus driver for Harmony High School for several years.
Lillian was an avid animal lover. She loved all animals, but especially her two dogs: Chloe and Roxie, and her cat, Tippy. She also crocheted and made many items for charity.
Lillian loved the Lord and was very active in her church. She grew up attending the E.U.B. church in Stifflertown, Pa. She attended many other churches in her lifetime and was always very involved with many missions within them.
She is survived by her brother, Dallas Craig (Tomi Richards), Ridgeway, SC; and her sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Binkerd Christie (Roger), Huntsville, AL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Neal Braun and cousin Laura Helen Binkerd Smith(Herbert).
Lillian had many friends in the community who she always referred to as her family.
Her brother and sister thank that other family for all the love and support given to her for the past couple of years and know that she loved all of you.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Lillian’s family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Indiana County Humane Society: 191 Airport Road, Indiana, PA 15701
