Obituary for Suzanne Miller
Suzanne Elizabeth Catherine (Derek) Miller, 70 of Home, PA released her mortal coil November 23, 2019, while in hospice care.
Born April 3, 1949 in Latrobe and raised in Greensburg to the late Robert H. and E. Claryce Derek as the second of five children; Karen Jackson (Stephen), (late) Robert L. Derek (Rebecca), Dean A. Derek (Barbara) and Stephen H. Derek (Susan).
Suzanne graduated high school from Greensburg Central Catholic and IUP with a BA in Sociology/Psychology. While at IUP she met the love of her life Daniel L. Miller with whom she spent her remaining years raising a family, and ultimately being his sole caregiver for 13 years until his death September 25, 2016.
Suzanne is survived by her three children: Michael D. Miller (Kimberly), Bethany L. Organ (Michael) and Matthew D. Miller; four grandchildren: Derek and Eva Miller, DJ and Joshua Organ; her aforementioned sister and brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Suzanne’s request, there will be no visitation, however a celebration of life event will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Suzanne’s honor to the Visiting Nurses Association and VNA Hospice Care: 850 Hospital Road #3000, Indiana, PA 15701. The family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana.
