Obituary for John Aloi

John Anthony Aloi, 88, formerly of Starford, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born, July 8, 1931 in Indiana, he was a son of the late John Aloi and Maria (Amendolia) Aloi. He was the husband of the late Helen (Anderchin) Aloi. They were married September 27, 1958 and had celebrated 59 years of marriage.

John had worked for McCreary Tire and Rubber Company in Indiana, later retiring from Aramark Food Service Company at IUP.

John was a true outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, walking in the woods and picking wild Huckleberries and mushrooms. He also enjoyed working with his wife, Helen, in their flower and vegetable gardens. John was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. However one of the things that brought him happiness was spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer.

John is survived by his daughter, Barbara Lockard and husband Rick, of Indiana. His grandchildren are: Zachary and Amanda Lockard, both of Indiana, and Ashley and Jonathan Aloi, both of Brush Valley. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Carrie Aloi, Brush Valley. John will also be remembered by his siblings, Anthony Aloi, Parma, OH; and Mary Sabo, Youngstown, OH.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, John J. Aloi; his siblings: Nunziato Aloi, and Frank Aloi, and Carmella Kanyan; brother-in-law, Nick Kanyan; and sisters-in-law, Rita Aloi, and Annabelle Aloi and brother-in-law, Steve Sabo.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 14th from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, of Clymer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer. Rev. James Morley will be the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
